Tungsten and Titanium

Tungsten Carbide

Tungsten Carbide is an inorganic chemical compound containing equal parts of tungsten and carbon atoms.  Tungsten Carbide in its most basic form is a fine gray powder, but it can be pressed and formed into shapes for use in industrial machinery, tools and jewelry.  Tungsten carbide is highly scratch resistant and is three times stiffer than steel, ten times harder than gold and is much denser than steel or titanium.  Tungsten Carbide melts at an extraordinary 6,100 degrees Fahrenheit which is the highest melting point of all metals.

Tungsten Carbide rings cannot be sized and if emergency removal is required, Tungsten carbide rings can only be removed with a vice grip.  Aucoin Hart has partnered with the finest Tungsten Carbide manufactures to offer a lifetime ring size exchange on all Tungsten Carbide rings.  If your finger size ever changes, Aucoin Hart will replace your ring for as long as you own it for a small shipping and handling fee.  If the Tungsten Carbide ring style is no longer available, Aucoin Hart will replace it with a similar style of equal or greater value.

Titanium

Titanium is a chemical element with the symbol Ti and atomic number 22.  Sometimes called the “space age metal,” it has a low density and is a strong, lustrous, corrosion-resistant with a silver color.  Titanium can be combined with other elements to produce strong lightweight alloys for aerospace, military, medical, sporting goods and jewelry.  Benefits of titanium include its corrosion resistance and extremely high strength-to-weight ratio.  Titanium is a strong as some steels, but 45% lighter in weight and has average scratch resistance.

Titanium rings can be resized although it is not recommended for all ring styles and if emergency removal is required, Titanium rings can be removed with a traditional ring remover.  Aucoin Hart has partnered with the finest Titanium manufactures to offer a lifetime ring size exchange.  If your finger size changes, Aucoin Hart will resize or replace your ring for as long as you own it for a small shipping and handling fee.  If the Titanium ring style is no longer available, Aucoin Hart will replace it with a similar style of equal or greater value.
