Color

The amount of body color a diamond displays determines it’s color grade. The color scale begins with “D” and moves towards "Z" as body color increases. Body color is generally perceived in subtle tints of yellow, brown, or grey. Higher color grades are rarer and therefore more valuable.

The subtle differences between one grade and the next can be indistinguishable to an untrained eye. These differences become even less pronounced once a diamond is set in jewelry. An interested buyer should compare color grades and make their selection upon their personal preferences and budget.
